MoS2 nanograins doped TiO2 nanofibers as intensified anodes for lithium ion batteries

To take advantage of the high-rate capabilities of a TiO2 anode, MoS2 nanoparticles were wrapped in TiO2 nanofibrous backbone through adding molybdenum source to organic titanium-based electrospinning system, followed by hydrothermal reaction in solution containing sulfur source and subsequent carbonization. Benefiting from the synergistic effect between TiO2 and MoS2, more active sites for lithium ions could be generated, which further maximized the advantage of each material to exhibit stable specific capacities of 479.78 mAh/g for Li-ion batteries after 100 cycles.
