One of the greatest human life problems is gradual increasing in carbon dioxide emission in the atmosphere. It is mostly caused by fossil fuel combustion. Accordingly, study on solar cell devices is growing in recent years. A facile and novel method for fabricating a dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC) on a flexible polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fabric substrate (T-DSSC) is presented in this study. First, PET fabric was coated with Reduced Graphene Oxide Nano sheets (RGO), and utilized as the counter electrode. Subsequently, PET/Polyamide mesh (PET/PA) coated with PEDOT: PSS was applied as the working electrode. An electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nano fibrous mat, impregnated with I-3(-)/I- solution, was employed as a quasi-solid electrolyte. Finally, the resultant module was compared with a standard glass module. Results showed that according to the roughness of fabric and discontinuity of sintered TiO2 layer, the photoelectric characteristic of fabric based module is lower than the standard cell; however, its mechanical properties like flexibility were notable. The photocurrent density, voltage, fill factor and the conversion energy efficiency, were up to 6.77 mA/cm(2), 0.57 V, 39.46% and approximate to 2.5% respectively. Interestingly, the fabricated module also showed potential to be utilized as flexural bending sensors, as its output voltage increased directly with the angle of bending. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd.
