A comparative study of polyindole nanofibers membrane and polyindole film

Polyindole nanofibers membrane was firstly fabricated by electrospinning and compared with polyindole film prepared using the solution casting method. Polyindole was dissolved in acetonitrile under ultrasonification. The electrospinning process was performed under electrical field strength of 1.4 kV/cm. The surface morphology of nanofiber was observed by SEM and TEM. The electrospun polyindole fibers exhibited smooth surface and the diameter of the fibers was about 160 nm. The structures of polyindole nanofibers membrane and polyindole film were characterized by X-ray diffraction test. The electrical properties were evaluated by electrical conductivity and cyclic voltammetry test. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
