Nanofiber Production: Study and Development of Electrospinning Device
2019/11/27 21:33:37 admin
Producing fibers at the nanoscale has reached a new interest during the last decade because of the huge number of new applications that nanofibers offer. Nanofibers, in nanoweb, nanofilament, or nanoyarn shape could be used in almost all spheres of our life: medicine, electronics, sensors, optics, textile, chemistry, cosmetics, etc. The most common technique for producing nanofibers is the electrospinning process. The electrostatic production of nanofibers known as electrospinning has become an object of intensive experimental research during the recent years. This work presents the different steps that have been followed to design different prototypes of electrospinning devices. At least, a final more efficient and more versatile prototype has been designed and built. In the experimental approach, the influence of each parameter has been studied. Some parameters, such as solution viscosity and applied voltage, have been deeply investigated with two kinds of polymer solutions, polyacrylonitrile in dimethylformamide and polyamide-6 in formic acid. General conclusions concerning the last built device and the influence of the different parameters will be presented.
