Room temperature ferromagnetism observed in pure La0.5Sr0.5TiO3 nanofibers fabricated by electrospinning

La0.5Sr0.5TiO3 nanofibers with average diameters of 148-208 nm have been successfully fabricated by electrospinning method. The results of X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy results indicate that the prepared La0.5Sr0.5TiO3 nanofibers have a cubic perovskite structure. Room temperature magnetization results reveal ferromagnetic behavior for the La0.5Sr0.5TiO3 nanofibers having the specific magnetizations of 0.022-0.042 emu/g at 10 kOe. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy suggests that oxygen vacancies play an important role to induce room temperature ferromagnetism in the electrospun La0.5Sr0.5TiO3 nanofibers.
