The relationship between electric field setup and the resultant electrospun nanofiber deposition shape and morphology was studied by using totally four types of electrospinning apparatus including conventional electrospinning setup ( the receiver is grounded or connected with negative power), inverse field electrospinning setup, non-contact electrospinning setup, and the 20% PVA ( polyvinyl alcohol) solution was electrospun at the same applied voltage, receiving distance, spinning needle diameter, temperature and relative humidity, and the resulting nanofiber deposition shape and morphology were observed via photography. Also in this study, ANSYS finite element software was employed to simulate and analyze the field distribution on the four types of setups, and the influence from ion concentration of spinning solution on the resultant nanofiber morphology on different electrospinning apparatus was interpreted by introducing the electrochemistry theory. The reasons for the differences were analyzed, laying theoretical foundation for the development of new type of electrospinning equipment.
