Ce-doped In2O3 nanofibers were synthesized by a simple and effective electrospinning method. The morphology and crystal structure of the as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results revealed that the length of the nanofibers can reach several tens of micrometers and the average diameter was about 90 nm. The sensor fabricated from the 4% (w) Ce-doped In2O3 nanofibers showed the highest sensitivity to triethylamine. The sensitivity reached 2.6 when the sensor was exposed to 3 mu L.L-1 triethylamine and the response time and recovery time were about 5 and 6 s, respectively. Moreover, good selectivity was also observed in our investigation.
