Synthesis of Multiferroic Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O-3-CoFe2O4 Core-Shell Nanofibers by Coaxial Electrospinning

Multiferroic Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O-3-CoFe2O4 (PZT-CFO) core-shell nanofibers have been synthesized by coaxial electrospinning. The core shell configuration of nanofibers has been verified by scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope, and the spinel structure of CFO and perovskite structure of PZT have been confirmed by X-ray diffraction, high resolution transmission electron microscope and selected area electron diffraction. The macroscopic ferromagnetic property of core-shell nanofibers has been demonstrated by magnetic hysteresis loop, while the microscopic magnetic domain structure of magnetized nanofiber has been revealed by magnetic force microscopy. The surface potential of core-shell nanofiber has been measured by scanning Kelvin probe microscope, and the piezoelectricity of core-shell nanofiber has been tested by piezoresponse force microscopy using dual frequency resonance tracking technique, which confirms the ferroelectricity of PZT CFO core-shell nanofibers.
