Enhanced Rate-Capablity of a Highly Homogeneous Polyaniline Coating for LiFe0.8Mn0.2PO4 Nanofibers

LFMP (LiFe0.8Mn0.2PO4) cathode materials were coated using PANI (polyaniline, 6.28 x 10(-9) S/cm) to improve electronic conductivity. TEM (Transmision electron Microscope) results reveal a uniformly coated layer of PANI with a thickness of 40-50 nm. To analyze the polyaniline coating effects of LFMP, dQ/dV analysis and the rate capability test were performed carefully. The C-LFMP sampels showed high coulombic efficiency of 98.2%. And the rate-capacity retention values of C-LFMP (polyaniline coated LiFe0.8Mn0.2PO4) were increased to 54% compared than 51% of LFMP at 5C (850 mA/g). The enhanced coulombic efficiency and rate capability of C-LFMP can be ascribed to the improved electronic conductivity of PANI layer.
